For my birthday one year, I received at set of dried butterflies for collectors. Many of them where brown and a bit mundane. This one looked it would be one of them. But opening it was... A very pleasant surprise. I love this very much. From Wikipedia: "Lexias dirtea, the archduke, is a species of butterfly of the family Nymphalidae."
I painted this using acrylic ink and Indian Ink. Painted on Strathmore Bristol smooth surface paper, measuring 12 in x 9 in, 30.5 x 22.9 cm.
Will be flat packed in acid free tissue paper.
