Morpho peleides, the Peleides blue morpho, common morpho or the emperor is an iridescent tropical butterfly found in Mexico, Central America, northern South America, Paraguay and Trinidad. One of the most stunning butterflies in nature, so of course I had to capture its beauty.
I painted this using acrylic ink, some who are iridescence. This gives a very subtle shiny to the painting. Painted on Strathmore Bristol smooth surface paper, measuring 12 in x 9 in, 30.5 x 22.9 cm. Will be flat packed in acid free tissue paper.
