From Wikipedia: Automeris io, the Io moth or peacock moth, is a colorful North American moth in the family Saturniidae. I think this is one of my very favourite moth paintings I have done. It took me the better part of three days, just because of all the tiny tiny hairs that make up its body and wings.
I painted this on Strathmore Bristol smooth surface paper, I using Acrylic ink. Measures 12 in x 9 in, 30.5 x 22.9 cm. Will be flat packed in acid free tissue paper.
